Barn   beam   mantle

This is a special beam which came from a barn that was over 125 years old.  At almost eight feet long, the beam is eight inches deep and 11 inches tall.  The hand hewn beam with its cracks, mortises, pegs and nails has all the character you could hope for.   Simply installed with a French cleat, the beam fits with any room with a roaring fire!

BOURBON   BARREL   TABLE

This was a lot of fun to make!  I ordered a real bourbon barrel from the Jim Beam distillery, Kentucky.  The sweet smell was amazing!

The final table top has a clear epoxy top with view of the stenciled barrel top.  The large door has wrought iron hardware and opens to reveal two shelves (with lazy susans) and loads of storage.

Floating   desk

This reclaimed white oak lumber floating desk is supported by a French cleat and wrought iron pipes.  The center section stores your key board and the two drawers provide ample storage.  An outlet on the left side is the electrical power source for monitors and phones, keeping the top clean and neat.

cutting    or   cheese    boards

With the extra project work, I sometimes make end grain cutting boards.  At the start I have no idea how the final pattern will look or the exact dimensions.  I do love the contrast between the light and dark wood.  The curves of growth rings are striking!  All are finished with a food grade mineral oil.  Of all the boards I've made and given to folks, I don't think any have ever seen a knife and some are used as cheese boards.

Adirondac   chairs

These cedar chairs are unbelievably comfortable and built to last.  They were my first production style job with many repetitive cuts and assembly.  Loads of fun to make and so relaxing to sit in.
The only question is if you like the natural or stained.  Tough choice!!!

Mail   Box   postS

This 6" x 6" cedar mailbox post is assembled with traditional woodworking joinery and will stand the test of time.  Cedar was chosen to match the cedar trim of the house.
This post is made up of hardwood boards formed into a box and simply screwed into a 4 x 4 inch post so that should the post be damaged it can be replaced.  The mailbox support is hand made and very solid.  A solar powered light sits on the top providing hours of illumination after sundown.  On the back, a plant hanger has been mounted to easily support whatever flowers we choose.

Fire  House   island

I worked with the Richfield Fire Department to design a movable island for their kitchen.  This project brought significant storage space with an ample working top.  The fire engine red doors on front and back open to reveal a red interior and black shelves.  The thick top displays the department's logos and is covered with a sturdy epoxy coating as found on bar tops.
